Maintaining an active and engaged online teaching presence is time-consuming for even the most experienced faculty. Did you know that D2L offers an embedded tool that can help monitor students’ activity in the course and take appropriate actions on your behalf?  Intelligent Agents provide automated notifications; for example, Intelligent Agents can automatically generate an email to students when they login to the course for the first time, when they have a pending deadline, or when they fail to complete an assignment. In this workshop, faculty will learn how to use the Intelligent Agent and replacement string functions to demonstrate presence and build a community of learning through directed and personalized course communication.
