You are invited to join a group of colleagues who will be reading and discussing the book Small Teaching Online, by Flower Darby and James Lang.

The publisher’s website describes the book as follows:

“The prospect of applying cognitive theory to your online teaching practice may seem daunting at first. After all, theory can seem very distant from what is happening in your day-to-day online class. This book aims to shorten that distance, to outline practical and feasible applications of theoretical principles to help your online students learn. Flower Darby presents minor changes you can make in your online teaching practice, small but impactful adjustments that result in significant learning gains. Based on the successful approach of Small Teaching, this book includes brief learning activities, small course design modifications, and simple changes to your communication with online students that have an outsized impact on student learning.”

This book group will be facilitated by Kim Godwin and will meet three times via Zoom:
