Winter Break Writing Prep: How to Overcome Obstacles and Meet Your Writing Goals
Fall 2020
More Details
The winter break is a great time to focus on a writing or research project, no matter where you are in the process. To get started and stay on track, you need to have a solid plan with measurable and achievable writing goals. So before you get lost in pumpkin spice lattes and grading final projects, come to this writing workshop that will help you prepare to get the most out of your winter break writing. Based on the book Professors as Writers, by Robert Boice, this workshop will cover common obstacles to writing and strategies to overcome them, how to be productive over an extended period of time, and the importance of goal setting. Throughout the workshop, participants will engage in discussions and reflections about their writing through a scholarly process as well as complete hands-on activities.
