Fall 2020
More Details
Discovering that a student has plagiarized a writing assignment can be demoralizing for both the faculty member and the student. However, there are steps that faculty can take to prevent plagiarism. In this interactive workshop, we will identify best practices designed to decrease plagiarism, such as updating writing assignments and developing in-class discussions and activities on ethical citation practices. We will also detail effective pedagogical uses of plagiarism detection software that not only help the student but also mitigate anxiety about accidental plagiarism.
