Adapting Digital Projects for Online Courses
More Details
While digital projects might seem like a natural fit for online courses, a number of challenges can arise when we ask students in online and remote courses to do the kinds of digitally intensive multimedia projects that are often assigned in on-campus classes. These challenges can include students’ access to software and other digital resources, translating workshop- and studio-based classroom models to Zoom or D2L, and introducing students to a new platform or program via a video recording or Zoom meeting. The presenters will provide strategies for adapting digital assignments for online classes, leaving ample time for Q&A and for attendees to discuss and workshop their own assignment concepts and prompts. The workshop will be led by members of MTSU’s Navigating the Digital Humanities faculty learning community.
