Advisor Mastery Program (AMP) Connects 

MTSU Advising social and network opportunities. This can include Brown Bag lunches, Mentorships, Social Hour, Potlucks, etc. 

Connects will be offered once a month, and will generally be worth 1/2 point (unless otherwise stated).

This comprehensive program equips mentors with the tools and insights needed to guide and inspire the next generation of advising leaders. Join us in shaping the future of leadership — one mentor at a time.

The AMP New Hire Advising Mentoring Program is actively assembling a diverse group of mentors who are trained and prepared to support our new hires through a one-year commitment. Must be AMP certified to apply. 

As a mentor, you will play a key role in fostering best practices in advising, enhancing advisor retention, and helping your mentee achieve the following learning outcomes:

1. Enhanced knowledge of campus resources, referral pathways, policies, procedures, and academic advising at MTSU.
2. Increased understanding of professional development opportunities in community engagement and belonging.
3. Active engagement with MTSU's advising community (AMP) and building relationships with advisors across campus.
4. Enhanced knowledge of student needs and access to advising best practices.
5. Understanding of NACADA's role in Academic Advising at MTSU, access to opportunities through the organization, and appreciation for ongoing training and personal development.

Participating in the AMP Mentoring Program will not only benefit your professional growth but also contribute to the overall success of our advising community at Middle Tennessee State University.  Your guidance and experience will be crucial in helping new hires navigate their roles and integrate smoothly into our team culture.
