How can course objectives, assessments, instruction, and learning be enhanced in the college classroom?  One approach is to redesign your class from a “backward perspective” so that student understanding occurs, literally, by design.  This workshop will present a case for redesigning your class from a backward design perspective, where faculty identify objectives, design assessments, and plan learning experiences.  Participants will utilize essential steps using Wiggins and McTighe's Understanding by Design framework as a guide to reconfigure their own courses to improve student success.
