You are invited to join a group of colleagues who will be reading and discussing the book The Coddling of the American Mind: How Good Intentions and Bad Ideas Are Setting Up a Generation for Failure, by Jonathan Haidt and Greg Lukianoff.

This book provides some insight about the mindset and world view of many of the students who are currently arriving on college campuses. It also provides useful strategies to promote student development, growth, self-efficacy, and independence.

This book group will be facilitated by Paula Calahan and will meet three times:

January 29 (Part I: Three Bad Ideas), February 5 (Part II: Bad Ideas in Action), February 19 (Part III: How Did We Get Here?), and February 26 (Part IV: Wising Up)

9-10 AM

LT&ITC, Library 348

Each participant will be provided with a copy of the book in advance of the first meeting.

Participation is limited; if you are interested in joining the group, please register as soon as possible.
