Workers Compensation

Worker's Compensation (WC) is a benefit to all employees who have had a work related injury/illness.

Any employee who suffers an injury/illness within the scope of his/her employment is eligible to file a worker's compensation claim.

Employees covered under workers compensation include: Full-time regular employees, part-time regular employees, hourly workers, student workers, graduate assistants, and adjunct faculty.

  • Employees must report a work-related injury/incident to a supervisor immediately. The injury/incident must be reported to the State of Tennessee claims administrator within 3 business days.  To report within the required 3 business-day period, please follow the workers compensation instructions referenced below.   In addition, before seeking medical treatment (excluding serious bodily injury or life-threatening injury), the injury/incident must be reported via the 24/7 Nurse Triage Line.
  • The statute of limitations for filing claims is one (1) year from the date of the accident.
