GTA Resources
GTA Teaching Preparation Certificate Program
The GTA Teaching Preparation Certificate Program is designed to provide Graduate Teaching Assistants with a structured experience that prepares them for classroom and laboratory teaching. Any graduate student is eligible to participate.

- Development of a teaching portfolio is an ongoing process. This page offers some guides in writing a Teaching Philosophy statement, and what artifacts might be most reflective of your instruction.

- Lucinda Taylor Lea Learning, Teaching, and Innovative Technologies Center (LT&ITC)
- Our center provides several workshops, webinars, and events each semester that are open to all Faculty and GTAs. For more information, please check out our website (you're here already!), email us at ltanditc@mtsu.edu, or stop by our offices at 348 Walker Library.
- ITD Service Portal
- The goal of the ITD Service Desk is to be the first place that students, faculty, and staff turn to when confronted with IT obstacles. The Service Desk is staffed seven days a week when classes are in session. Experienced personnel can answer hardware, software, password, and other computing questions.
- James E. Walker Library
- The library does have a lot of services, and does have a collection of well over a million volumes on the shelves and at least that much online, but they are dedicated to helping students feel successful and help break down any feelings of being overwhelmed by the size and scope of not only the library, but the whole college experience.

- Faculty Focus publishes an e-newsletter three times per week and has its own dedicated website featuring innovative strategies, best practices and fresh perspectives on what works, and what doesn't, when it comes to teaching, learning, and leading in higher education today.
- The Chronicle of Higher Education
- The Chronicle is published every weekday and is the top destination for news, advice, and jobs for people in academe. The Chronicle's Web site features the complete contents of the latest issue; daily news and advice columns; thousands of current job listings; an archive of previously published content; vibrant discussion forums; and career-building tools such as online CV management, salary databases, and more.
- Individual Development and Educational Assessment (IDEA) Center
- The IDEA Center is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to serve colleges and universities committed to improving learning, teaching, and leadership performance. The Center supports the evaluation and development of both programs and people. Their website contains several free papers related to teaching and faculty evaluation.
