Description:  Dive into the world of open educational resources (OER) in this introductory webinar. Dr. David Wiley will explore the core concepts of "openness" in education, distinguishing between OER and open access and examining the role of open educational practices (OEP) and open pedagogy. Whether you’re new to OER or looking to deepen your understanding, this session will offer practical insights and answers to your questions.

Presenter Bio: Dr. David Wiley is the Chief Academic Officer of Lumen Learning, a company dedicated to eliminating race, gender, and income as predictors of student success in US higher education. His work and research happen at the intersection of open educational resources, generative AI, learning analytics, continuous improvement, and professional development - all in support of improving student success. He is one of the founders of the open educational resources movement. He is also Education Fellow at Creative Commons, an Ashoka Fellow, adjunct faculty in Brigham Young University's graduate program in Instructional Psychology and Technology (where he was previously a tenured Associate Professor), and Director of the Brad D. Smith Student Incubator in the Marshall University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
