Scavenger Hunt Introduction

Welcome to the website for the collected QR codes of the Historic Selfie Scavenger Hunt. A partnership between the department of history at Middle Tennessee State University and Sports*Com, one of the City of Murfreesboro’s health and wellness sites, the Historic Selfie Scavenger Hunt is a walking/running program that combines a little mystery, a little history, and the chance to take a selfie (who could want more?). Murfreesboro is full of history, and we chose five walkable sites we think you’ll want to know more about – but you have to find them first.

Register for the program and we will give you a map with coordinates to five different historical locations. Follow the coordinates using your phone or any GPS tracking system to your destination. Snap a selfie of yourself at all five sites and email them to sportscomwellness@murfreesborotn.gov to get your cool prize. Each historic landmark will have a QR code available that will contain a narrative of the history of each site, courtesy of the MTSU History Department. This is the perfect opportunity to get outside, get active and learn a bit more about the town you live in.
