2022
Ann Stewart, Ed.D.
After 20 years in the high-tech industry, Dr. Stewart turned her attention to education and hasn’t looked back. As a Marketing & Entrepreneurship teacher, Stewart facilitated the development and opening of the first full service in-school coffee shop, Sketch It Up, in the district and the first high school business to have full membership in the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. Stewart served as the CTE Department Chair from 2013-2018. As the CTE Department Chair at Stewarts Creek High School, she was the Director of the Entrepreneurship Center for the school, a four-year entrepreneurship curriculum for non-marketing students, and is developing the curriculum in conjunction with Dr. Maria Edlin-King at Middle Tennessee State University for the four-year program. As the lead DECA Advisor, Stewart headed Stewarts Creek Marketplace, a shopping center in the school that includes the Creekside Coffee Shop, Stewarts Creek Design (print shop), Creekside Bank, and Hawk's Nest Bookstore. She received the Blackman High School Teacher of the Year during the 2010-11 school year.
Dr. Stewart was a DECA advisor for 18 years. She had many students place in the Top 10 and Top 20 at DECA's International Career Development Conferences (ICDC), and has even had 1st- 3rd place winners. At Nashville's 2016 ICDC, Dr. Stewart presented, "DECA Goes Lean," for new advisors. The project based learning presentation introduced the new Lean Business Model, now used in many DECA written events, to advisors and gave them active lessons to take back to the classroom. Dr. Stewart received her doctorate from Tennessee State University in 2013 with a dissertation entitled A Mixed Methods Study of Service Learning in a Public High School.
Stewart turned her efforts to working with the Gifted students at SCHS as the Gifted Education Facilitator in the 2021-22 school year.

Beverly Bauman
Beverly Bauman loves her students and has been encouraging them to Love Economics by using any effective method possible to “Hook” them on Economics. She is very proud of her Macro Team winning the Tennessee Economic Challenge last year. Her students ( PC & AP classes) illustrate their understanding of Economics in various ways: sidewalk drawings, class pictures, puzzles, poems, videos, business projects, skits, simulations and Macro Portfolios. Her ceiling tiles are decorated by each class to represent their class’ Economic focus and the personality of each class. Students who earn a 5 on the AP Exam also have a Ceiling Tile dedicated to their accomplishment with their name and year designated for Glory & Inspiration.
Beverly began her career at ORHS in 1996 teaching American History, Sociology, and CP Economics. She was given the opportunity to move into teaching AP Microeconomic and AP Macroeconomics, when Mr. George Davis retired after initiating one of the first AP Economic courses in the country.
In addition to working in education at ORHS, Beverly has also served as a College Board AP Test Reader Microeconomics: 2007 – 2012.
From 2003 – 2010 Mrs. Bauman was employed by the University of Tennessee Knoxville Distant Learning Center as an Instructor in American History and Economics.
Beverly Bauman lives in Oak Ridge with her husband of 40 years, James. They have 2 adult children, 3 3/4 grandchildren (Wyatt James is Due to join the family in January), 2 dogs, and a multitude of interests. Beverly is an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oak Ridge, avid reader, and community volunteer.
