Biography
Andrew M. Coomes is an experienced English educator and scholar with over two decades of teaching at the high school and collegiate levels. Read More »Andrew M. Coomes is an experienced English educator and scholar with over two decades of teaching at the high school and collegiate levels. He currently serves as an AP English Literature and Film as Literature teacher at Central Magnet School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and as adjunct faculty in English at Middle Tennessee State University. Previously, he taught at Midlothian Heritage High School in Texas, where he also served as an instructional leader, debate coach, and faculty liaison. Andrew holds a Master of Arts in English with a concentration in Film Studies from Middle Tennessee State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Western Kentucky University. His academic contributions include publications on film, popular culture, and composition pedagogy, as well as presentations at national and regional conferences. Dedicated to advancing student learning, he has also served as a reader for the AP English Literature and AP Seminar exams and has extensive experience in curriculum design, instructional leadership, and faculty development. He lives in Murfreesboro with his wife and their three children and enjoys reading, watching movies, and traveling in his spare time.
