Sassy (actually Sharon's Sassafras Lass) was a very spoiled golden retriever of regal Franco-Canadian origin.  Born at Chute a Blondeau near the border between Ontario and Quebec, Sassy was perfectly bilingual--she could disregard commands in either English or French.   Sassy held dominion over 16 wooded acres (112 acres in dog area!) around our middle Tennessee home, where she was attended by her faithful companion Jack Benny. They made a great pair, and they are both missed.
