Advisor Mastery Program (AMP) Workshops
These workshops will focus primarily on advisor skill-building and knowledge-building. Potential topics include:
- Technical/Software/Administrative skills (Excel, TEAMS, ARGOS, reading high school transcripts, etc.)
- Advising approaches and best practices
- Legal/Ethical issues in advising
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Workshops will be offered twice a month, and will generally be worth 1 point (unless otherwise stated). Workshops will vary in terms of being offered in-person or via zoom.

Dr. Kim Godwin is an Assistant Professor for the College of Education at Middle Tennessee State University. She teaches in the Womack Educational Leadership Department in graduate programs for higher education administration and student affairs. Her areas of research focus on Universal Design for Learning, online teaching and learning, and the promotion of open educational (OER) and open access resources (OAR). She has co-authored four Pressbooks and a Chapter on OER for the upcoming Handbook of Research in Online Learning due out in spring 2024. Prior to this role, Dr. Godwin served for many years as an instructional designer for MTSU Online, supporting the development of hundreds of online courses while promoting online teaching best practices through campus, regional, and international presentations.
Dr. Godwin resides just outside Nashville, TN with her partner where they are the proud parents of three giant breed dogs. Kim and Will, her partner, foster and care for senior Great Danes, Mastiffs, and other giants that need a safe place to land, 35 fosters in the last 14 years. In addition, she is a believer in the one true sport of football as a fan of the Tennessee Titans and The Ohio State University, though suspects that her love for the buckeyes might cause problems for some.
