Advisor Mastery Program (AMP) Workshops

These workshops will focus primarily on advisor skill-building and knowledge-building. Potential topics include:

• Technical/Software/Administrative skills (Excel, TEAMS, ARGOS, reading high school transcripts, etc.)
• Advising approaches and best practices
• Legal/Ethical issues in advising
• Inclusive Excellence 

Workshops will be offered twice a month, and will generally be worth 1 point (unless otherwise stated). Workshops will vary in terms of being offered in-person or via zoom.

This AMP Works training serves as a Navigate refresher designed to help advisors feel confident and prepared following the updated expectations introduced during the Navigate Documentation event at the end of the fall semester. As documentation practices evolve, it is essential that advisors have shared understanding, clarity, and practical guidance to support consistent implementation.

The session will revisit core Navigate functionality while focusing on documentation standards, expectations, and real-world application. Participants will explore how thoughtful documentation supports advising effectiveness, continuity of student support, and institutional accountability—while remaining aligned with relational, student-centered advising values.

The final 30 minutes of the session will be dedicated to open Q&A, providing space for advisors to ask questions, clarify scenarios, and troubleshoot challenges related to Navigate use and documentation. This training is designed to be practical, supportive, and confidence-building, ensuring advisors are equipped to meet expectations and leverage Navigate as a tool to strengthen advising practices.
