‡ These students are considered a focus population which in turn applies a premium to an institution’s progression and degrees awarded metrics. These students were recognized as "subpopulations" in the 2010-2015 model which applied a 40 percent premium to these metrics when low-income or adult students persisted or completed their degrees. These students are referred to as “focus populations” in the 2015-2020 model which applies elevated and graduated premium levels. Therefore, an 80 percent premium will be applied to students qualifying for one focus population and a 100 percent premium will be applied to those who qualify for two.
