Marketing Scholarships / Awards
General Department of Marketing Scholarship/Award Guidelines
- All awards will be presented at the annual Jennings A. Jones College of Business Awards Banquet/Reception. Recipients are required to attend.
- Awards presented in the spring will apply to the following fall semester.
- All persons receiving awards must be full-time students (at least 12 hours for undergraduates, 6 hours for graduate students) at MTSU at the time of application and in the semester in which they receive the award.
- Recipients must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours at MTSU.
- Students cannot receive the same award twice unless otherwise indicated.
- Grade point averages through the most recently completed semester will be used.
- All application materials (if applicable) are due Friday, February 14, 2025 by 4:30 p.m. (subject to change- check back in January 2025).
J.D. and Marge Vance Scholarship
Application required
Professional Selling Scholarship
Application, essay, and resume required
Recipient must be a full-time (currently enrolled in at least 12 hours) Marketing Major with a Professional Selling Concentration. Student must have completed at least 60 semester hours and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Specifications for the essay required are on the application.
This is a one-time scholarship of $1,500 and will be awarded to two students.
Marketing Internship Scholarship
Awarded to a Marketing Major with a GPA of 2.5 or higher who has at least one semester remaining before graduation. Applicant must have either completed the internship course (MKT 4950) the previous summer or fall or be currently enrolled in the course. A letter of recommendation from the internship employer of record must be submitted along with a statement describing the importance of the internship experience (see application for more details).
This is a one-time scholarship of $1,000.
Michael L. Heath Memorial Scholarship
Recipient determined by Awards Committee
Awarded to a Marketing Major with at least Junior standing (60+ hours completed) and a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference will be given to a student who is personable, intending to pursue a career in sales, and is a graduate of a Tennessee high school. Financial need, in the broadest sense, may be a consideration. Prior recipients are not disqualified from consideration for this scholarship in the subsequent year.
This is a one-time award of $1,000.
Bernard Goldstein Outstanding Marketing Student Award
Recipient determined by Awards Committee
Awarded to a Marketing Major with at least junior standing (60+ hours completed) and high GPA.
This is a one-time award of $500.
Outstanding Senior in Marketing
Recipient determined by Awards Committee
Awarded to a Marketing Major with senior standing (90+ hours completed) and high GPA.
This is a one-time award of $500.
