MT Engage Staff

Julie Myatt, Director

MyattDr. Myatt will lead the MT Engage program through its completion as the University’s Quality Enhancement Plan in 2022. She has taught MT Engage-designated courses since the pilot semester in Spring 2016, served as faculty representative for the College of Liberal Arts on the MT Engage Oversight Committee and on the ePortfolio Scholarship Review Committee, and presented at the MT Engage Summer Institute. Dr. Myatt earned her master’s in English at Tennessee Technological University and her PhD in Rhetoric and Composition at the University of Louisville, where she was Assistant Director of Composition.
Myatt joined the MTSU Department of English in 2008 and has served as Co-Director of General Education English, Coordinator of Graduate Teaching Assistants in English, and organizer of the Peck Research on Writing Symposium. She is the immediate past Co-President of the Midsouth Council of Writing Program Administrators and an author, conference presenter, and workshop leader about rhetoric and composition studies and pedagogy.

Lexy Denton, Assistant DirectorLexy

Lexy Denton earned her master's and bachelor's degrees in business administration from MTSU.  She worked as the assistant to the QEP committee chair during the development of MT Engage and as part of the QEP team during the University's accreditation reaffirmation meetings.  She also teaches Freshman Seminar (UNIV1010).  

Rebecca Rogers, Secretary

Rebecca Rogers earned her bachelor’s degree in English and Japanese from MTSU. She now works as the MT Engage secretary, as a former student of the program, helping other students and faculty with the MT Engage program that enriched her own college career.
