- The TBC outcome for Discovery in Natural Sciences (Sci Lit): Students systematically explore issues, problems, objects, and works through the collection and analysis of evidence, identification of informed conclusions, and analysis of complex topics by breaking them down.
Descriptions:
This course is for students with no prior courses in chemistry. It can be taken before
CHEM 1110/CHEM 1111. Fundamental concepts of chemistry covered in the course are measurements,
matter, chemical bonds, chemical reactions, nuclear chemistry, states of matter, solutions,
and electrolytes. This is three hours of lecture and one three-hour laboratory. The
course does not count toward a major or minor in Chemistry.
