More Details

The MT Engage Summer Institute provides faculty with an overview of MT Engage and the opportunity to align courses with the program. Topics will include the value of integrative thinking and reflection, best practices for incorporating them in college courses, and the MT Engage Signature Assignment Rubric as an assessment tool. Faculty will also learn about ePortfolio pedagogy and the D2L ePortfolio, as well as about faculty and student support services at Walker Library and the University Writing Center. Finally, faculty will complete an MT Engage certification form and a draft syllabus in preparation to teach an MT Engage course in the 2018-2019 academic year.

Faculty who attend the institute, certify a course, and submit an institute evaluation will receive a $500 stipend. Lunch will be provided. Any tenure-track, tenured, full-time temporary, and adjunct faculty who did not participate in a previous summer institute are invited to participate.

NOTE: Please register for both Day 1 and Day 2 of the MT Engage Summer Institute!

If you're looking for some just-in-time training or want to dig a little deeper into a specific topic of interest, MTSU subscribes to both Teaching Professor ("reflects the changing needs of today's college faculty and the students they teach") and Academic Leader ("reflects the evolving needs of academic deans, department chairs and heads, program directors, and others with leadership responsibilities") online publications. If attempting to access either publication off-campus, you'll be asked to enter your MTSU credentials.
