This workshop will show how you can use Wikipedia in the classroom for high-impact OER assignments to teach informational literacy, computer, communication, and writing skills, integrative thinking and assessment of source quality. Stemming from an FLC in which we first learned how to edit and create articles in Wikipedia, we then explored possible teaching applications. We share our students’ reactions to Wikipedia assignments and offer guidance on what kinds of assignments you might use in your classroom.
