Fully Online Undergraduate Programs
Business Administration (B.B.A.)
Business Administration is a major for students who wish to pursue a general business
career but do not wish to select a specific business area. The student will leave
the program equipped with managerial, communication, and decision‐making skills.
Commerce (B.S.)*
The Bachelor of Science in Commerce is a flexible degree plan designed to provide
a broad-based course of study in business while maintaining the flexibility necessary
for the modern college student.
Communication (B.A.)
The Department of Communication Studies offers the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) via online
delivery. Course in this degree stress developing strong interpersonal skills, knowledge
of diverse cultures, improved problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work well
in a group as both member and leader. Concentrations include culture and social influence, organizational communication, and health communications.
Communication (B.S.)
The Department of Communication Studies offers the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.
Students must select a concentration in culture and social influence, health communication, or organizational communication concentration.
Criminal Justice Administration (B.S.)
Courses in the Department of Criminal Justice Administration provide students with
a well-rounded curriculum designed to meet the academic needs of those seeking careers
in law enforcement, courts, corrections, and homeland security. Concentrations include
homeland security and law enforcement.
English (B.A.)
MTSU has five undergraduate programs in English leading to a degree. Designed for
students interested in a broad experience of English studies, including courses in
literature, writing, and linguistics. Includes foreign language and approved Bachelor
of Arts minor requirements.

Information Systems (B.B.A.)
For those who like to work with computers and technology, there's no need to look
further. Information Systems is where business and technology meet. This ever-growing
field attracts graduates who thrive in a team environment and want to utilize their
expertise to develop even newer technologies to maximize business productivity.
Integrated Studies (B.S.)*
This interdisciplinary degree program is extremely flexible and is an excellent option
for students seeking a broad-based educational experience or wanting to custom design
a degree program. There are two concentrations for Integrated Studies – Applied Leadership and Public Safety.
Leisure and Sport Management (B.S.)
A Council on Accreditation of Recreation, Parks, Tourism, and Related Professions
program, the B.S. in Leisure and Sport Management provides knowledge, skills, and
experiences for students interested in preparing for positions in sport management,
outdoor recreation, recreation administration, and related professions.
Political Science (B.A.)
Political science and sub-fields such as public administration and law offer students
a wide range of avenues to fulfill an interest in public affairs. Study focuses on
institutions and processes by which people govern themselves or are governed and on
methods of resolving issues from local to international levels. Students majoring
in Policial Science can choose a general focus or a concentration in either Public
Policy and Management or Pre-Law. Includes foreign language and approved Bachelor
of Arts minor requirements.

Recording Industry (B.S.), Music Business Concentration
A student majoring in Recording Industry can pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree
in Music Business. With talented faculty members who have ties to all parts of the
industry and the only college chapter of the Nashville Songwriters Association International
(NSAI), students enter a crowded field with valuable advantages.
Sociology (B.A.)
The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology supports students interested in addressing
challenging issues such as family dynamics, inequality, patterns of behavior, and
forces for social change and resistance.
Sociology (B.S.)
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Sociology includes three concentrations in which
to specialize: Criminology, Social Justice, or Work and Family Studies. Each offers opportunities for students to examine social life, social change, and
the social causes and consequences of human behavior from specific perspectives.
Fully Online Graduate Programs
Aeronautical Science (M.S.)
Concentrations include Aviation Management, Aviation Education, and Aviation Safety and Security Management. Students will learn about aviation contracts and leases, training, professional
development programs, and the knowledge and expertise necessary to develop and manage
aviation safety.
Business Administration (M.B.A.)
Meeting the rigorous standards for accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate
Schools of Business (AACSB), the Jones College of Business provides a deep grounding
in principles of accounting, business analytics, management, finance, and much more
through the Flex M.B.A. program. Concentrations include Health Care Management, Music Business, and Strategic Marketing Analytics.
Criminal Justice Administration (M.C.J.)
A Master of Criminal Justice (M.C.J.) degree can help pave the way for advancement
in professional opportunities in law enforcement, homeland security, courts, police
administration, correctional management, probation, parole, juvenile justice, drug
rehabilitation, and private security or investigations.
Curriculum & Instruction (Ed.S.)
This Specialist in Education program is for all who would like to learn more about
cultural diversity, mental processes, and cognitive/educational neuroscience and their
impact on the exciting world of teaching and learning. There is a concentration in
Curriculum and Instruction as well as a specialization in Culture, Cognition, and
the Learning Process.
Curriculum & Instruction (M.Ed.)
The Master of Education program helps you become an expert in the areas of second
language acquisition, appropriate strategies and models for effective instruction,
assessment tools and accommodations, and literacy frameworks, practices, and overall
language learning. Concentrations include Curriculum and Instruction - Non-licensure and Curriculum
and Instruction - English as a Second Language (ESL).
Curriculum & Instruction, Digital Teaching and Learning Concentration (M.Ed.)
This program focuses on examining and exploring topics and strategies appropriate
for creating, managing, evaluating, and delivering effective digital instruction.
Coursework includes instructional design as well as internet law, project management,
and designing online professional development. Courses are aligned to International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards and Competencies for Instructional Design Professionals.
Curriculum and Instruction, Teaching and Innovation in PK-16 Concentration, M.Ed.
This Master of Education (M.Ed.) online program is designed for individuals who either:
a.) have completed a teacher preparation program and already have an initial or professional
level PreK-12 teaching license, OR b.) do not need a teaching license for their current
workplace situation (private school setting, state institutions, etc.) but want to
learn more about curriculum and instruction. The concentration is focused on the
teaching and innovation of PK-16 educators (preschool - adult learning) as leaders,
advocates for change, and digital navigators. All coursework is completed online in
an asynchronous learning environment.
Digital Teaching & Learning Certificate
The Digital Teaching and Learning (DTL) Certificate program helps build skills and
knowledge necessary to effectively deliver and facilitate online learning by examining
and evaluating models and strategies for online instruction, designing appropriate
curriculum, exploring literacy and multiple literacy development through new media
tools, incorporating seminar techniques for online discussions, selecting and applying
digital learning structures to the PreK-12 classroom, addressing issues related to
diversity and accessibility, designing digital content for online lessons, selecting
assessments for the digital classroom, and using data to inform practice
Finance (M.S.)
The purpose of the Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Finance is to provide a graduate-level
knowledge base and expertise to those who work in the growing field of finance, assisting
individuals, companies, and governments, among others, in navigating the increasingly
complex and essential world of financial analysis. This program seeks to provide students
with instruction that will prepare them for careers as financial analysts, consultants,
managers, and planners.
Library Science (MLS)
The M.L.S. program consists of 36 credits, with all courses online except for two
field experiences to help produce practice-ready librarians. Each course is tailored
to individual student interest, and students are allowed to propose alternative electives
in other disciplines.
Literacy (M. Ed.)
The Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Literacy is designed to focus on the most
current research in the field of literacy. The program provides an in-depth study
of literacy development and strategies to support academic growth and success. The
curriculum includes a variety of literacy topics, such as foundational knowledge,
developmental continuums, assessment, writing, and specific strategies for supporting
students. Graduates of the program who meet the criteria and are interested may be
eligible to add on the reading specialist endorsement to their current teaching license.
Management (M.S.)
The Organizational Leadership concentration focuses on building leaders who can create or preserve a structure within an organization.
Music, Music Education concentration (M.M.)
The online Master of Music specialization in Music Education is designed for current
K-12 music educators looking to refine their abilities and advance their careers.
Courses are taught by MTSU's distinguished and esteemed faculty and can be completed
in two years.
Nursing (MSN)
The MSN degree addresses a critical shortage of Family Nurse Practitioners with high-quality,
affordable, and time-efficient studies. Coursework is completed online, except for
clinical rotations through approved preceptors (in the student's home area when possible).
Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Certificate
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners deliver holistic care to individuals,
families or groups with acute or chronic mental health problems.. The certificate program in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is designed to meet the demand for psychiatric providers in the health care field.
Coursework is completed online, except for clinical rotations through approved preceptors
(in the student's home area when possible).
Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), M.S.N.
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) are specialized providers trained
in holistic care for individuals, families, and groups with chronic and acute psychiatric
and mental health issues across the lifespan. This program assists you in building
confidence to care for the needs of others with instructors that desire to see you
succeed. In this concentration, you will hone your expertise to develop a therapeutic
alliance with clients and establish a knowledge base to improve situations with care.
You will also develop skills in assessment, diagnosis, planning, treatment, and evaluation
for future patients.
Professional Studies (M.P.S.)*
The MPS is an interdisciplinary graduate degree program designed for working professionals
who wish to earn a graduate degree in their area of expertise and excel in their careers. Concentrations
include Human Resources Leadership, Strategic Leadership, Training & Development,
and Leadership in Nutrition, and Operations Research.
Supply Chain Management (M.S.)
The Master of Science in Supply Chain Management trains students to be professionals
in all areas of supply chain management, including: logistics, distribution, planning,
and procurement.

The Department of Accounting offers a flexible Master of Accountancy (M.Acc.) degree program that develops students'
decision-making and communication skills and provides a path to professional accounting

Data Science, Graduate Certificate
The Graduate Certificate in Data Science at MTSU allows everyone the opportunity to
learn the data skills needed to compete in the current and future marketplace. Students
will learn how to solve data-related problems by understanding the data, exploring
and cleaning the data, then visualizing the data to create and optimize predictive
models.
Data Science (M.S.)
The MTSU Data Science Master’s Program aims to prepare students to be competitive
on the job market. The courses will equip students with advanced data science skills
including, but not limited to, computer programing, data visualization and manipulation,
predictive modeling, business analytics and communications.
Social Work (M.S.W.)
The Master of Social Work promotes excellence in advanced generalist social work education,
research, and practice.
