Castalian Springs Archaeological Project
A cooperative project of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Middle Tennessee State University, the Bledsoe's Lick Historical Association, the Tennessee Division of Archaeology, the Tennessee Historical Commission, and Historic Castalian Springs.

The primary objectives of the project are:
- To better understand the use and chronology of this important Indigenous ceremonial mound center
- To explore how the site’s mineral springs were used throughout its history
- To provide university students with training in the methods and techniques of professional field and laboratory archaeology
- To emphasize to the interested public the value of archaeological research.
